FFA members across the nation came together for the National FFA Convention from October 29th to November 1, 2013. The Marion FFA Chapter sent 34 members and 4 guests, 16 of which stayed for the length of the Convention. FFA members who attended the convention were able to attend the Career Fair and Expo which was held at the Kentucky Fair and Expo Center in Louisville, KY. While there, they were able to meet with colleges around the country and talk to major agricultural businesses. The Marion FFA Chapter received the Three Star Chapter Award, which Jennifer Blankenship and Richelle Nelson accepted for the chapter. There were some special guests at the Convention who acted as key note speakers. Rick Patino, head coach of the Louisville Cardinals, spoke about letting go of the distraction in life and focusing on being the best you can be. Another speaker, Brennan Costello, who is the National Eastern Region Vice President, spoke about courage and the true meaning of bravery. All of the speakers had very memorable and intelligent speeches. All of the FFA Members who attended the National FFA Convention had a wonderful time in Louisville.
