First Place in Tractor Driving and Second Place in Soils

Kyle Baker and Allen Harner, members of the Marion FFA Chapter placed first place as a team and were the 3rd and 4th place individuals, respectively, in the Section 24 FFA Tractor Driving contest held at the Williamson County Fairgrounds on September 15. Zach Sims was an alternate for the Marion team.
The chapter also participated in the Section 24 FFA Soils Judging contest on September 29 and placed second in the contest. Team members Kaylen Roth, Katie Baltzell and Emily Jack were the 5th, 7th and 8th place individuals, respectively, in the section FFA contest which, had 12 schools and over 100 individuals. Addition team members Kyle Baker and Harleigh Krumrey helped the Marion team earn second place honors.
The Marion FFA Chapter’s horse judging team competed in three competitions; Waltonville, Section 24 FFA Contest at SIUC , and State FFA Horse Judging at Black Hawk East Community College in Kewanee, Illinois. The horse judging team, consisting of Alissa Bischoff, Delani Graves- Napier, Kristin Horrell, Anna Jane Milligan, and Brittany Murphy placed 6th in the Section 24 FFA contest and 16th at the State Horse Judging Contest.
Marion FFA’s Forestry team, consisting of Zach Sims, Aaron Olsen, Richelle Nelson, Lexie Baugher, and Christina Clayton, competed in the District V Forestry contest in Dixon Springs, Illinois. They placed 8th place in District 5 with Zach Sims as top scorer on the team.
